THE PEOPLE
HONGLIN CUI
Architect, OAA, Leed AP
Licensed with the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA), Honglin Cui has 26 years of Canadian experience and 10 years of Chinese experience in architectural design and practice. Prior to coming to Canada, Honglin graduated from Tianjin University in China with a bachelor’s degree in architecture and a master’s degree in urban planning and design. After graduation, he worked in Dalian University of Technology in China for 10 years first as a lecturer, then associate professor for the Department of Architecture, while practicing as a design architect in the Architectural Design and Research Studio in Dalian University of Technology. In 1999, Honglin came to Canada and studied in the master’s architecture program at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Since then, he has spent 18 years working with several Canadian architectural firms, including Robbie/Young + Wright Architects, Kohn Architects, Diamond Schmitt Architects, and Chamberlain Architects. Through his involvement with multiple projects at these firms, Honglin has accumulated a broad range of professional experiences in all stages of architectural design, ranging from preliminary planning concept, to site plan application, building permit application, construction documents, and contract administration. He founded Broadview Architect Inc. in 2017 aimed at providing full architectural services for various types of residential, commercial and institutional projects.
